EZEE UV Illuminators provide ultraviolet light sources for the analysis of fluorescent-stained electrophoresis gels.
Available in sizes of 21x21cm and 21x26cm, these illuminators serve as standalone units or as part of a fully integrated documentation system with microDOC. Each illuminator, with its large surface area, is an excellent workstation for imaging and working with fluorescent-stained proteins and nucleic acid gels.
Standard features include a high/low intensity safety switch and an efficient start motor, ensuring rapid energy delivery without vibration for each of the six 8 Watt UV tubes. A special filter glass minimizes unwanted background light, enhancing contrast and sensitivity even for the faintest fluorescent gels. Two dual wavelength models offer additional flexibility and convenience.
The 312nm wavelength model is recommended for standard gel documentation needs, while the 254nm wavelength models are suitable for applications requiring more DNA damage or cross-linking. The 254nm bulbs can also be viewed through a filter, making them unsuitable for gel documentation purposes.
